Meet Quest Audio Visual
As we spoke with Ryan Peddigrew, director of business development for Toronto-based Quest Audio Visual, there were a few key figures that popped up:

Still, there was one number that really stood out: 1. As in one family. Which, according to Ryan, is exactly what Quest AV is and what makes it a different kind of place to work.
“Even as we’ve grown, we’ve continued to promote from within and are big on employee recognition. Every department works together, relies on each other, and our successes are dependent upon each other.” Adding, after a brief pause for emphasis, “We all win together.”
Quest AV got its start because of a newspaper article. In 1986, Quest AV’s founder (the current president’s father, there’s that family thing again!) read an article in the Toronto Sun. The headline declared, “Computers are the way of the future.”
In a not-so-basic “and the rest is history” moment, Quest AV immediately began renting computers. A few years later, the company added wholesaling. In 2007, Quest AV expanded into audio visual production and live event tech support. Now, Quest AV has grown to a staff of more than 30 generating $15MM in revenue with its computer parts and sales business and has been recognized as one of Canada’s Fastest-Growing Companies every year since 2015.
“One thing that has remained constant–besides the family vibe–is how we pride ourselves on being flexible. Each and every clients’ needs are unique,” explained Ryan when talking about Quest AV’s growth.
Quest AV’s team supports a number of Toronto venues, where they handle everything–soup to nuts. “Our bread and butter is corporate events,” Ryan explained. “And we also work closely with event planners, live acts, and experiential agencies.”
Quest AV’s work has not gone unnoticed. In late September, the company was recognized with a 2022 Canadian Event Award for the work it does on the Transpacific Maritime Conference (TPM) in Long Beach, CA. Quest AV brought several trailers and a crew of more than 50 staffers to produce the annual event. Quest AV also won a 2021 award for its work on the Big Data and AI Toronto Virtual Conference.
With all of this success, what is it about Flex that Ryan loves most? He made us blush a little with his answer, “Flex empowers me.” Mic drop, anyone? And his favorite feature? “We do business in more than 15 countries, the ability to process different payments in different currencies is a big thing. And the customs manifests are a huge advantage for us.”
Quest AV is on the verge of leveling up its marketing and engagement. With a new website on the way, Ryan said the company
is showcasing itself as “an adaptive, modern, professional, high class production company. We will work with anybody. We wear their shoes and give them all the credit. That’s what gets us going as an organization.”
Finally, like many of our clients, Ryan mentioned Covid and how the pandemic devastated the industry. “We pivoted and partnered with a virtualproduction company, which required us all to wear new hats
. We had an account manager working with our web developer. A project manager designed landing pages. We transformed half of our warehouse to a live production studio–including a full kitchen set. Our leadership team invested in the unknown for the clients and we came out of Covid intact and with new capabilities.”
Ryan suggests that even with its growth, rich history, and awards, Quest AV is just now ready for its close up. Concluding, he said with a hint of pride that one often only finds in family, “It’s time for us to really harness the power of what we do, reintroduce ourselves to the market, and really show off all that we represent.”
