At Showboss AV, Tyree Carter plays a central role in making sure every show is fully staffed, organized, and ready to rock. As Staffing and Logistics Manager, he balances constant movement across people, schedules, and priorities, often under tight timelines. His coordination and dedication are a major part of the company’s success, week in and week out.
According to his nominators, Tyree consistently goes above and beyond to ensure the right people are in the right place for every event. One guiding philosophy helps shape his approach to staffing: familiar faces in the right places create aces. That mindset influences how crews are built, how trust is established, and how consistency shows up across shows.
Some of Tyree’s biggest wins happen quietly. One standout example came when a major festival with four stages confirmed on a Tuesday afternoon, with load-in scheduled for Thursday morning. The show was fully staffed, prepared, and ready to go. It was a high-pressure turnaround that most people never noticed, which is exactly how Tyree prefers it.
For Tyree, a perfect schedule is like harmony. Everything working together, no one part overpowering the others. Achieving that takes a specific set of skills. He believes the ability to multitask while staying on course is one of the most important superpowers a scheduler can have. When five people text him at once asking to shift call times, his response is direct and steady: “The call time is the call time. Please be on time.”
This year also marked a major operational milestone for Showboss AV with the implementation of Staffing Assistant Plus. Tyree and his team now rely on the system for every event they support. One Flex feature he believes more people should use is the Assignment Dashboard, especially for its ability to see the big picture across multiple shows and staffing needs. That visibility helps him stay focused, execute clearly, and keep everything moving forward.
When the final slot is filled and the crew is locked in, Tyree’s victory ritual is brief. He steps away from the computer, takes a lap around the office and warehouse, then comes right back to open the next show that needs staffing. There is always another schedule to build.
What keeps Tyree in the business after all these years is the music and the hustle. After spending two decades as a concert promoter, stepping into the production side of live events gave him a new perspective on what it takes behind the scenes to make shows happen. Seeing that process up close continues to drive his passion for the work.
When asked to describe his year in ten words or less, Tyree summed it up this way:
“Just trying to keep the monster fed.”
Tyree’s focus, discipline, and commitment to execution capture exactly what the Scheduling Star category is meant to recognize. He keeps crews aligned, shows supported, and chaos contained, all while making it look routine from the outside.
